Water is synonymous with life. To raise awareness of respect for water, in 1992, the “World Water Day” was established by the United Nations, with the aim of supporting its ‘culture’: respect for water, access to fresh and drinking water, so precious and yet ‘denied’ in many regions of the world, especially the poorest and least developed.
We know that water is the basis of all forms of life, among the main constituents of ecosystems and of the human being. It is one of the main building blocks of the Universe. The same origin of life on our planet is due to water: it covers 71% of the earth’s surface and is the main constituent of our body. Water is one of the primordial materials par excellence.

I am the water
that washes and rinses,
that waters and quenches thirst,
transparent and discreet.
Essential in winter and summer,
I live at sea all my days,
but I am also sent by Jupiter
those times when it hails and rains.
I can travel, fall and swim,
I am the water that goes towards the sea.
I am precious, I am free and clear,
in the desert, however, I am rare,
but I am always traveling companion,
they are the oasis and not the mirage.
I’m on the water’s edge, calm and discreet
under the bridges I am “still water”,
but be careful to do your accounts well,
“still water, you know, wears out bridges”.
And therefore “water in the mouth” closed,
you can’t say it’s “water under the bridge”,
a secret does not like noise,
“gone water does not grind the grain”.
There are so many ways of saying,
phrases made to be understood:
“drown in a trickle of water”,
does not mean not knowing how to swim.
Do things “rose water”,
it means to hurt things.
And then there is the “soap and water” type,
natural, without frills and greasepaint.
Or “find yourself with water in your throat”,
without who then saves and consoles you …
and who knows how to “muddy the waters”:
this is who plunderer ‘was born’.
“Make water everywhere”,
much later they will come to save you;
“not knowing what water to drink”,
“drown even in half a glass”.
“Crush the water inside the mortar”,
“empty the sea with a spoon”.
Otherwise “discover the hot water”,
useless thing, rather bold:
there was already someone who had invented it,
you see a door already wide open.
