Activity for 1 year olds: game with the colander
After one year of age, children begin to walk and move more and are able to walk around the house by themselves even going down and up the stairs. The first thing to do therefore is to organize a space in complete safety, where the child can move freely and in total safety, perhaps following the Montessori model.
I play with the colander
Take the colander, the one you normally use in the kitchen. Invite the child to thread thin materials – such as straws, toothpicks, or colored cleaners – into the holes, or you can create a treasure box with a tissue container. All you have to do is put in the box many scraps of fabric that the child can pull or put inside at will.
Activity for 2 year olds: colorful aquarium
- a cardboard tray (as shown in the figure), round or rectangular, the shape is not a problem. Do not take the one that is gold or coated with glossy paper: it cannot be colored
- sheet of paper or card for fish; you can take it white in this case your child will color the fish or colored
- blue tempera
Color the aquarium blue, cut out the fish, decorate them and glue them on the aquarium as soon as the gouache is dry. If you want to avoid cutting fish by fish you can fold the paper like an accordion, draw a fish and cut it out.
Activity for 3 year olds: treasure hunt
Functional treasure hunt
Turn tidying up your bedroom into a fun treasure hunt! Let your child bring out the toys and objects of his choice, and once chaos reigns in the room, launch the challenge: find the object and put it in the right place before you.
Activity for 4-year-olds: homemade didò
Create homemade and edible didò
- 1 cup of flour
- half a cup of fine salt
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of seed or olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of food coloring
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl; heat up a non-stick pan and put all the mixture in it.
Continue to turn until the water is used up and has the consistency of the classic modeling paste, then let it cool.
At this point the pasta is ready to be used. If closed hermetically it will keep for many days. This is the basic recipe for white pasta. For the colored one you can add food coloring.
Activity for 5-year-olds: the path with pillows
The path with cushions
Take all the pillows you have in the house. Place them on the ground. A player creates a map on a sheet without showing it. The child will have to guess the path on the pillows to get to the finish line. If he makes a mistake he falls into the water!
Activity for 6 year olds: explore the world with google maps
Explore the world with google maps
If you miss traveling, you can opt for Google Maps. Just write the name of a city and then drag the little yellow man to any street to start exploring as we please. Children with their imagination will be able to imagine that they are really in those places wandering around the streets.
Activity for 7 year olds: names, things, cities, animals
Names, things, cities, animals
Names, things and cities: a classic that never tires and that allows adults and children to play together. You will only need them paper, pen and an active mind. Go to the scores when you end up with a letter!
Activity for 8 year olds: measure the house
Measure the house
Find the perimeter and area of your yard / bedroom. Become a designer: Using your perimeter and area data, design the perfect courtyard / bedroom for yourself.
Activity for 9 year olds: create your own music video
Create your music video
TikTok exploded onto the scene last year for the first time and now, everyone is a star with lip sync videos going viral every day. But you don’t have to sign up for TikTok to enjoy lip syncing, dancing, and facial expressions. Create your own music video and have fun with the whole family, just using an iPhone. Have the children design the video, including what the lighting will be, what song will be sung, what everyone will wear, and what the set will look like.
