my daughter is exactly 4 weeks old today. For medical reasons, she was already fetched in the 38 + 1 week of pregnancy via caesarean section. Weighed 2,860 grams and was 51 cm long.
She gets the bottle because I have a stunted breast which stopped developing when I was 16 years old. I also only have 1 milk duct in each breast
She drinks very well. Between 7-9 vials of 80-120ml per day. It comes about every 2 1 / 2-4 hours. That’s not where the problem lies either.
The problem is that she only falls asleep with physical contact. She simply does not fall asleep on her own in the bassinet, in her bed or in the stroller. She cries, kicks wildly, rows her arms, bangs her head left and right and overextends herself. The crying then becomes really hysterical and angry after a while. If I take it up then I rest immediately. She stops immediately and immediately becomes relaxed and very calm again.
In the first 2 weeks I had to lie down a lot anyway and take it easy, so I picked her up immediately when she cried. My Hebi said you shouldn’t let the mice cry for the first few weeks so that they build trust and security. That’s what I did then. But now she no longer sleeps in her bed or in the bassinet. It is only possible to fall asleep on my chest, where she can lie for 2 hours and sleep peacefully, as soon as I take it off, she is awake again within 15-20 minutes. First she starts to whine and then she really gets into it and ends up screaming properly. If I take it up then I rest immediately.
It’s especially bad at night. I can forget to put her in her cot, then she starts screaming straight away. She is currently sleeping between us at the head end. That went quite well so far, now it has been the case for 3 days that she is also doing theater there and only falls asleep when I pull her close to me and put my arm around her.
I hardly get anything done at home because the siren goes off as soon as I put it down somewhere. I’ve already tried to make her scream, but you can’t take that for long. In addition, she gets so deep into it that she turns all red and starts to gag and cough. Then get really scared for them.
The only place where she sleeps well and continues to sleep as soon as I put her in is the Maxi-Cosi, but she can’t sit in the Maxi-Cosi all the time. Certainly not that great for your back! I’m also lacking sleep at the moment. Today after a long whining and crying she fell asleep at 5:30 am and at 6 am I had to get up to get my two boys ready for school. I don’t drive much longer at this level. I’m really at the limit of my strength.
My boys weren’t like that back then, so I’m extremely helpless in this situation.
I really love my little princess endlessly, but I would like to help her in some way. Because I feel totally sorry for her in those moments.
Do you have any tips for me? That would be really great!
