Premature birth is one of the most difficult situations that a family can go through, at a time that should only mean happiness. But it is necessary to hold on to the faith of a healthy future and the strength of unshakable love, which turns premature children into small warriors.
Photographer portrays before and after premature children
It is with this in mind that Canadian photographer Red Méthot created a project that portrays the “before and after” of premature children. With beautiful images, the professional brought a warmth to the parents of babies who are born prematurely, but who can have a healthy and happy future.
The photos place children and adults holding their portraits while premature, a vision that – alone – can be shocking, with tubes and incubators. But it took on a meaning of hope in the contrast between the fragility of a premature baby and the strength of a survivor.
The photographer is the father of two premature children. “This album shows portraits of people born prematurely, who went through a difficult path early in life. They are photographed holding in their hands a portrait taken during this period. You can see what they have become, ”wrote Red, on his Facebook profile.
