Cooking has now become the passion of many women and also of many men, so much so that it is almost impossible to find a house where there is not at least one or more in the kitchen recipe books. Although it is possible to find recipes of all kinds even online, having a cookbook to leaf through and consult it has become quite a common habit.
The recipe books then, containing valuable information, tips and advice, they are of great help not only for novice chefs, but also for people who love to cook as a hobby and true passion.
Recipe books to give and treat yourself
Some time I had published a here on Fertile Period list of some interesting children’s recipe books to meet all those parents who, due to lack of experience, time or imagination, needed a guide to cook quick and easy dishes for their little ones.
Today, however, I would like to point out some recipe books to give as gifts or to treat oneself that cannot be missing in the kitchen. They are all much more than just a cookery recipe book. They are all beautiful and useful and well known volumes, therefore particularly suitable as a gift idea.
You will recognize the volumes immediately both by the title and by the now established chefs / authors who wrote them. They all offer detailed cooking recipes aimed at both beginners and those with a little more experience.

6. A little sweeter, by Damiano Carrara
For those who love to cook desserts I recommend the book A little sweeter by Damiano Carrara, internationally renowned chef and judge of Bake Off.
This latest volume, much appreciated by readers, is divided into two major chapters:
- the first where there are the basics of pastry, then creams, whipped masses, basic doughs and in-depth pages;
- the second where you can find the recipes of many desserts and preparations divided by difficulty: simple, creative, surprising desserts.
In both chapters the preparations are illustrated by clear and well-made photos and the explanations are understandable to all. The book is therefore useful for both beginners and those who want to refine the technique or test themselves with some more complex preparation.
