Legend has it that every mother has a list of tasks to complete. It doesn’t matter if it’s a weekend or a holiday, this list (which can be a mental or physical checklist) always accompanies an exhaustive routine. With that in mind, we have developed a maternal goals guide to take some of that weight off and encourage a lighter maternal in 2021.
What are your maternal goals for 2021? Get inspired with our list!
1 – Being able to eat food that is still hot once a week
What seems like a simple pleasure to be enjoyed is a luxury for many mothers who do not have a daily support network. But there is often a lack of effort in organizing this moment as important as the meal.
For this reason, our tip is not to give up – from time to time – sit down to eat a plate of delicious and warm food. Call on Dad, Grandma or whoever can help you on this mission, but have that time for yourself.
2 – Do number 2 alone
It’s almost automatic. The baby is born and it looks like you will never be able to use the bathroom in peace again. It’s a funny situation, too, but this lack of privacy can be martyrdom for many women.
If you have this chance (to do number 2 alone), enjoy it! If not, good news is that this phase passes.
3 – Admit you are tired and let your father be a father
This message is for moms who like to have total control over the routine with the baby. Even when the father is willing to actively participate in all the tasks, are you one of those who prefer to do it “your way”?
Throw that pressure or guilt over there! Let the father exercise his fatherhood and use that time for you (and not to supervise that he is doing everything right).
4 – Respect other mothers’ way of being
“My son sleeps all night”, “does yours still use a pacifier?”, “Are you going to put it in the nursery so young?”. Has meeting other mothers turned into a festival of hunches and judgments out there?
When we start to respect the choices of other mothers, our maternal one also becomes lighter. How about exercising this in 2021?
5 – Sleep 5 hours straight. Is it possible?
We know that you can’t control when your baby will wake up during the night. But it is interesting to see if some of your habits do not contribute to sleepless nights, such as staying on the phone before bed or not having a sleep routine with the baby.
6 – Do not eat the rest of the baby’s food
The baby never eats all the food and you always eat the rest, so as not to throw it away. This type of situation also contributes to the fact that you do not think it is important to have a moment of your time enjoying the meal as you would like.
Try putting less food on the plate, respecting your child’s satiety habits.
7 – Exclusive breastfeeding until 6 months, despite guesses!
Being a mother is exercising empowerment daily. With breastfeeding it is necessary to be even more firm, because the guesses arrive almost daily. Make this one of your maternal goals in 2021!
Breast milk is the most complete food in the first six months and every woman can breastfeed. Trust your body and your mother! Only absorb information that comes to aggregate.
8 – Buy me clothes, even if I buy 10 for the baby.
It is natural that, after the baby’s arrival, priorities change. But you don’t have to completely forget about yourself!
Feeling beautiful is also an important step in building the mother we want to be. So, don’t feel bad about spending on gifts for yourself!
9 – Take a bath without closing the shower to hear the baby
Just get in the shower and you think the baby is crying? This situation is unanimous among mothers! But try to relax, especially if your little one is sleeping in a safe environment.
10 – Have breakfast before starting the house routine
When was the last time you sat down for breakfast in a calm and organized manner? It is difficult, we know! But this habit can make a lot of difference in your routine. How about being one of your maternal goals? Try to set aside some time for this in 2021!
