Educating children in values is the most valuable thing we can give them and will help them to become adults who try to be better people every day without causing harm to others.
There are many important values that we must instil in children, always aware of the importance of values in education, so I bring 12 months 12 values educate children in values: one value for each month of the year. Throughout the year, you will reinforce these principles in your children by working on a specific monthly basis. Consider the values I have highlighted as the most important for our children’s education and everything I have prepared to help you convey certain principles to children.
January: Value of Gratitude
Teach your son to say thank you. Children can be taught to practice gratitude in different ways and on different occasions. Educating children in values is one way to make them grow up healthy and happy. Thank you is one of the most important teachings in educating children.
February: Value of Respect
Children should learn to love their companions and others, regardless of their skin colour, their characteristics, what their hair looks like, whether Chinese, Arabic or Indian, if you speak another language, and to respect their culture and traditions.
March: The Value of Friendship
Teach your children friendship. Value education begins with example, so that parents transmit their experiences and actions to their children. It is personal affection, pure and unselfish, shared with another person.
April: Value of Generosity
In order for children to be generous, it is necessary to educate them little by little. If parents approve of their small efforts, they will be motivated to continue with these generous acts. Teaching children to lend their things is not the only gesture of generosity they can learn.
May: Value of Solidarity
Encouraging solidarity at home is important for children, seeing where there are opportunities to help others and where messages are heard, like ‘let’s not throw away the clothes you left’. for the container, let’s take it to church for the poor children ‘or’ this Saturday we have to do something for the aunt who is sick’.
In this way, we are not only teaching them how to act with others, but we are also favoring empathy among children, and by putting themselves in the place of others, they will understand more easily the importance of their help when it is really needed.
June: Empathy Value
Educate your child in the value of empathy, a value that will bring him/her numerous benefits on a personal level and in his/her relationships with others. Remember that values are fundamental pillars in children’s education. If parents make their children understand the importance of being persevering, when life puts them in difficulties, they will know that they will have bad weather in the beginning, but that they will persevere.
July: Honesty Value
Teach your child from childhood the importance of a value that helps us gain confidence with the people closest to us. A value closely linked to friendship. Being honest is an attitude that sows trust in yourself and makes you always act based on truth and authentic justice.
August: Tolerance Value
Being tolerant is patronizing and permissive towards someone, not to avoid what he wants to do is to accept and admit difference or diversity. You can teach your child to be more tolerant of others. Tolerance is essential to avoiding problems or conflicts and improving your child’s relationship with others.

September: Value of Responsibility
Responsibility is a very important value when it comes to raising a child. With responsibility, the child learns to resolve his or her conflicts, set new goals and be consistent with his or her actions. Taking on small responsibilities is basic so that the child can develop properly, both intellectually and emotionally.
October: Value of Humility
Humility is a value that is difficult to explain, but that we must educate our children so that they can be more understanding with others and have good friends.
November: Value of Optimism
“YOU CAN”‘ is every day more universal and an advisable attitude to achieve the purposes and fulfill all our dreams. It is believing that everything is improving in life.
December: Value of Love
Being affectionate to others is not always easy. Love is a value that we must instil in children so that they learn to be more caring with their family and friends.
I hope you enjoyed it! Here at home we try to work on these values in our daily lives, I confess that it is not very easy, but for 2019 we can already do it differently and educate our children in values: a value for each month of the year. Will you go with me on this challenge?
