A scrutinizing look at the stomach, wild counting in the calendar and the all-important question pops up in your head: Am I pregnant? Every month countless women check their bodies for the typical signs of pregnancy. Be it because they have a longing desire to have children, or because they have not paid close attention in the last month and are now afraid that they are expecting children unintentionally.
There are many signs of pregnancy. The best known is probably morning sickness and missed periods. This is where we get suspicious for the first time and ask ourselves: Am I perhaps pregnant? But there are many other symptoms as well. However, these do not all occur together, so that a definitive ‘diagnosis baby’ cannot be made.
Missing a period can be due to too much stress, or nausea can be due to spoiled food. Even signs of pregnancy such as painful breasts, a pulling sensation in the abdomen or weight gain do not necessarily mean that you are actually having offspring.
The more of these pregnancy signs you notice about yourself, the more likely it is that you are expecting a baby. We have listed all the typical symptoms for you. If you notice one or the other of them, then you should think about having a child and buy a pregnancy test. Or go straight to the doctor, then you have certainty.
1. Missed period
The classic that gets every woman excited: I missed my period! But that alone is no guarantee of pregnancy. Too much stress or changes in hormonal balance can also be responsible for the absence of menstruation. It may even happen that women have another bleeding in early pregnancy.

Many women also have an irregular menstrual cycle, which can have various causes and does not necessarily indicate pregnancy. This means that the absence of menstruation can be a symptom of pregnancy, but it does not have to be.

2. Morning sickness
Not pretty, but widespread: morning sickness, which many people struggle with in the first trimester of pregnancy (up to the 12th week of pregnancy). Particularly ugly: The nausea is often not just limited to the morning, but stays with you throughout the day.
Quick help: The best tips against nausea during pregnancy
According to popular parlance, pronounced morning sickness indicates a girl. Again and again, women report that they have felt little or no nausea when pregnant with a boy. Women who are expecting a girl report experiencing morning sickness more often. And that even over the first three months. Whether there was it?

3. Swelling of the breasts
Many women know the feeling just before the period starts, that their breasts become more sensitive to pain, feel firmer and are even a little swollen. While this feeling usually returns after a week in a normal cycle without pregnancy, it lasts longer in early pregnancy.
This means that if your breasts have been hurting for a while, if they are slightly swollen and extremely sensitive to touch, this can also be a typical sign of pregnancy.
4. Constant tiredness
Once a fertilized egg cell has implanted itself in the uterus, the hormonal balance in a pregnant woman’s body goes haywire. So it is not surprising that many are constantly tired and could sleep anywhere and anytime.

5. Altered sense of smell
Are you suddenly more sensitive to smells or are you disgusted by something that didn’t bother you before? Then this can be another sign that you are pregnant.
Especially when it smells like cinnamon, onions, garlic, coffee and even chocolate, even if there is just a hint of these foods in the air, many pregnant women lose their appetite.
6. Altered taste sensation
In addition to the changed sense of smell, the taste can also change. It almost seems like pregnant women are much better at tasting the individual components of a meal. Or sometimes the exact opposite happens and salt, for example, no longer tastes right
Unfortunately, there can also be a sudden disgust for certain foods that you previously loved.
7. Too much air in the stomach
Unpleasant tightness and far too much air in the abdomen, i.e. flatulence, can also occur more frequently in the first few weeks of pregnancy. So if you haven’t overdone your diet or eaten something that is difficult to digest, then that can also be a symptom of pregnancy.

8. Weight Changes
would you have known Pregnant women in particular often lose a little weight in the early days, especially if they are struggling with nausea or loss of appetite.
However, weight gain can also be a sign of pregnancy. So be alert if your scale suddenly shows more without previous binge eating.
9. Sudden aversion to cigarettes and alcohol
You hear it again and again: women who smoked a pack of cigarettes a day with pleasure stop from one day to the next. Because it doesn’t taste good anymore. Just like the glass of wine with dinner. A good thing actually, considering that both are bad for your health in general – and especially dangerous for your baby’s health.
So if you’re one of those people who enjoy themselves, these are also two classic signs of pregnancy that should make you suspicious.
Sudden dizziness right after getting up? If this happens to you more often lately, then it could be that you are pregnant. If this is not the case, you should still see a doctor, maybe there is an illness behind it.

11. Mood swings
From jubilant to death in a few minutes: pregnant women are often said to have mood swings. But that’s no coincidence, because all the hormones that ‘go crazy’ during pregnancy ensure that our mood is not very stable. Pregnant women react more emotionally to many things.
And even after pregnancy and childbirth, we women are not particularly emotionally composed. But the older the child gets, the more composed we become.

12. Feeling pregnant
Somehow you feel different, like you’re pregnant. Sure, if you want to have children and finally want to start a family, then this feeling can be very deceptive and is an unreliable sign of pregnancy.
But many women report that they actually felt somehow different and that’s how they noticed their pregnancy.
