According to the annual report of the EF EPI (English Proficiency Index), the body that measures the level of knowledge of English, Italy ranks 36th in the world and 26th in the European continent for the command of the language.
No less merciless is the ranking of the big cities where English is better spoken: Milan is the flagship of the peninsula, standing only 35th, very far from Berlin, Paris and Madrid.
The origin of the problem of the Italians with the English language must be sought in the method of learning and in the little attention paid to teaching the subject in public schools.
Suffice it to say that according to EF EPI statistics only 30% of students in public secondary, middle and high schools reach level B2, which is the minimum level of learning required by the labor market and a necessary requirement for access to many foreign universities.
The gap between public and private schools is considerable: only 1 in 3 of state students reaches B1, compared to 50% of private individuals.
It is clear, therefore, that simply studying English at school is not enough, for this reason it is important to provide our children with the right tools to learn the language and master it adequately as it happens with the Kumon English method.
The Kumon method allows children to learn English through a program of lessons designed specifically on the basis of their skills and needs.
The Kumon English program, available in Italy from the second half of September, starts with simple repetition exercises, then the difficulty gradually increases until reaching the more advanced levels. This allows pupils to gradually hone their knowledge and become familiar with what they have learned before moving on to the next level.
The books of the Kumon English method they contain exercises and audios that allow pupils to broaden their oral and written understanding in a foreign language. The material includes examples, illustrations and explanatory notes that will help the little ones develop the ability to learn on their own.
Kumon English teaches English to children in a completely natural way. Students acquire, in a personalized, pleasant and progressive way, advanced communication skills, understanding and reading of original English texts.
The exclusive didactic cards of the Kumon study method allow you to adapt to the individual student, developing their autonomous learning skills to the maximum and stimulating their growth through the progressive mastery of the languageto. With Kumon it is not a question of learning simple lessons but of acquiring the skills needed to “learn to learn”.
The Kumon method, also very valid in mathematics learning, aims to develop the maximum learning capacity of each student and to promote the development of skills independently.
