“It all started from the desire to share a difficult moment with my children so as not to censor the pain and fatigue that life sometimes puts in front of you, precisely because I am sure that something beautiful can be born from pain as well as from the pain of I give birth they were born. Or as, as a man, I prefer to say, the seed must die to give life to the plant, so pain is necessary for life and it is right that the children learn it immediately. This new project is born from the same desire ” . This is how his father and young Turin entrepreneur Andrea Visconti explains his rebirth. We had already heard it on other occasions: when he had published a video story created to tell his children about the failure of his startup, when with a fairy tale, he decided to tell the technology to children. When, always with a video story, he published the letter written to his daughter 17 years before she was born.
“Technology and digital, as well as failure, can represent a danger and a potential pain, but also a great opportunity” continues the father. “But since we all still know little about the actual risks and real opportunities of technology, we need to learn from those who know more than us. All this, however, in a light and fun form to play down a topic that can be thorny for many but that if faced with serenity and a smile it can become an opportunity for discussion and sharing with one’s children “.
October 17th is a special date for Andrea Visconti. In fact, on 17 October 2017 he had published a video story to tell his children that the company of dad but not dad had gone bankrupt.
The success of his fairy tale, which all the major national newspapers, magazines, radios and televisions have talked about (we have talked about it too!), Allowed him to restart with a new profession: produce modern video-fairy tales for children, parents and companies to tell about lost values.
Exactly 2 years later he announced from the Vodafone Theater stage, on the occasion of the FuckUp Night, an event dedicated to the dissemination of stories of failure, the launch of a new project for his Instagram, Facebook and Youtube channel: video interviews with famous people and experts in education and digital culture to tell, in a fun way with games and challenges, experiences of positive use of technology but also a professional point of view on a very important and current topic such as relationship between technology and children.
“As a father of 3 digital native children, I couldn’t help but realize how attracted my children were to technology. As an insider I knew the risks and opportunities associated with my work, but I did not understand what impact technology could have on children. This is why I studied this phenomenon by reading dozens of books and scientific research, but I realized that the most interesting part was the comparison with other parents and with experts on children and digital education, so why not share these comparisons with others? The idea is very simple, to allow everyone to participate in the discussion on this issue, in order to become all of us, parents and educators, more aware of the risks and opportunities offered by technology, without exalting it and without demonizing it, because basically technologies they are only tools, what counts are the people ”!
