A novelty introduced by the 2020 budget law was the formula milk bonus. This is a contribution from 400 euros annually to help new mothers who cannot breastfeed their newborn with their own milk, but only with artificial milk. To date, however, the measure is still awaiting implementation.
The 2020 budget law introduced the formula milk bonus. This is a contribution that can go up to 400 euros per year and is payable within the sixth month of the baby.
This measure, announced in 2020, it’s still an amendment. The portals to request it should have been released in March 2020, but, with Covid, the Ministry of Health has suspended everything, so at the moment it is not possible to submit the application.
A subsequent decree of the Ministry of Health will establish the ISEE requirements for access to the benefit and the various pathological conditions (which prevent breastfeeding) that give the possibility to take advantage of the bonus.
This bonus is aimed at new mothers who cannot breastfeed their newborn with their own milk, but only with artificial milk.
The decree of the Ministry of Health will establish not only the ISEE requirements, but also what they are pathological conditions – including hypogalysis and agalease – which give the right to receive the amount.
