Here it is a thousand ideas, from small jobs to special recipes, from poems that we can write on a card designed by children to events in which we can all participate together, to spend a day different from the usual in the name of joy and good humor.
Father’s day, date
Father’s day is March 19, when you honor St. Joseph, the father figure par excellence, the one who became the father of Jesus and accepted his mission with a spirit of sacrifice, dedication and a lot of love. A curiosity: in the United States and in the Anglo-Saxon countries the day dedicated to the father (Father’s Day) occurs on the third Sunday of June.
Father’s day, events
All over Italy fathers are celebrated with special events and appointments. Here is a selection up and down the Peninsula.
San Giuseppe is the patron saint of numerous municipalities and villages in Italy which, precisely on March 19 or in the days immediately preceding it, organize bonfires and other celebrations in the streets of the center. For example we propose:
there feast of pancakes in Montefioralle, in Greve in Chianti (FI): a giant pan of two meters in diameter will be used to fry the typical zeppole of the peasant tradition in the square, which will be offered to visitors together with wine and Chianti Classico vinsanto.
Donnalucata ride to Scicli (RG): From 20 to 22 March 2020. A procession of horses and riders departs from the Church of San Giuseppe, with figures representing Saint Joseph and the Virgin Mary leading the procession. The bonfires, called Pagghiari, are also set up and the riders who follow the ride light some bundles of stubble called ciaccàre.
TO Ponza through the streets of the center a big village festival with the traditional one wedged.
- Feast of San Giuseppe in Acquapendente (VT): on March 19th, as usual, there will be popular games and music at the San Giuseppe Rest Home. Free distribution of the famous “frittelle di S. Giuseppe”. Torchlight procession.

Older children can write funny phrases like these:

Dad, remember that you are unique… just like everyone else! Best wishes!
