HOW IS THE COLOR OF THE YEAR DEFINED?
Defining what will be the color of the year means, in a certain sense, giving it an indelible imprint, determining its style, fashion, trends in design, at the cinema …
But on the basis of what is the main color of the coming year selected?
Pantone himself explains it:
A careful evaluation and trend analysis is carried out every year by the experts of the Pantone Color Institute called to scour every corner of the earth in search of new influences in terms of color. Influences can come from any sphere: the world of entertainment and film production, itinerant art collections and new artists, fashion, all spheres of design, the most popular tourist destinations, new lifestyles, games and socio-economic conditions.
Influences can also come from new technologies, materials, textures and effects that impact color, from major social media platforms, and even from sporting events that capture international attention.
It is no coincidence, therefore, that for a few months the Classic Blue has been going crazy in European courts and on red carpets (see photo below and read the article here)
