36th week nausea, dizziness and labor pains
Ask:
I am 36 weeks pregnant, the baby is 2 weeks further according to measurements from my doctor and at the hospital. I haven’t had any complaints so far. This is my second pregnancy. My first child was born by caesarean section.
Last night I suddenly had a severe headache, nausea and extreme dizziness. Then I went to bed and eventually I was able to fall asleep. I didn’t have anything during the day today. But since 5 p.m. the nausea started. Then I still had contractions for 2 hours. They can be felt very easily in my abdomen from time to time. Could it be that the birth is coming up?
Many Thanks

Hi there,
if the nausea that is actually typical of early pregnancy sets in later in pregnancy, inflammation of the gastric mucosa or something similar can be the cause here.
But also pregnancy-specific causes. In order to rule out the latter in particular, I would ask you to contact your gynecologist or a women’s clinic for further clarification as soon as possible if you continue to feel sick or even vomit.
