Hi there,
I read the name Malu/ Malou here and think it’s really beautiful. But what kind of spelling is nicer?

Malu is an abbreviation of Marie – Luise, so it is crucial how Luise/Louise should be spelled. I know this abbreviation because there used to be a lot of Marie Luises’.
Personally, the name reminds me too much of Balu (jungle book) and of an abbreviation.

I know a Marilou who has the nickname Malou, I think it’s beautiful, we toyed with that name too…however, my husband Marlena pushed through…
Our daughter will now be called Fiona Tara Marlena.
