In the graphic below you can find out whether a certain name has been given to newborns in Berlin since 2012 and if so, how often. The tool shows, for example, that in 2020, unlike in previous years, parents rarely came up with the idea of naming their daughter Greta. And what about your name or that of your child?
There are some names for boys and girls. Choose the gender via the respective color (green=boys, red=girls). The gender “diverse” does not exist in the data set.
And to anticipate it, yes, Alexander, Maximilian, Marie, Sophie and Charlotte are really very popular. But, as in the case of Charlotte, it can mean that “only” 447 children in Berlin bear this name in the year (as in 2020). With almost 40,000 births, that’s not really that many.
