Anyone who thinks that a newborn baby only sleeps and does not understand anything that is happening around it is very wrong! A baby, from its very first days of life, has thousands of celebratory connections that make him understand the environment in which he lives. That’s why play is so important to stimulate the social, physical, emotional and cognitive development of this little one. In order to help moms, the blog Get Pregnant listed a series of activities for babies up to one year, perfect for the fun of the whole family.
Check out some activities for babies up to one year old:
Newborn to 3 months
Dance: When he starts crying a lot, try to put on some nice music (without too many beats and at low volume), hold him in your arms and dance together around the house. Make gentle movements, always supporting the little one’s neck and without shaking it.
Objects of the house: even very small, the baby is born watching everything around him. Therefore, one of the most suitable games is the presentation of objects. Showing things like spoons, lids, empty packaging, cushions and colorful pancakes will sharpen his curiosity. Hold the object about 30 centimetres away from your baby and face it with enchantment to show how it works for your child.
From 4 to 6 months
Soapballs: who doesn’t like soap bubbles? At this age, your baby will be able to follow them from a greater distance. As well as calming your baby instantly, this is an easy to carry toy and very inexpensive.
Pick it up: the phrase “I’m gonna get you” always starts a fun baby game. Who resists the threat of too many kisses, hugs and tickles? Then play, threaten and keep your promise so that the joke will result in tasty laughs. Threatening to bite feet, hands and belly is also guaranteed success. The good thing is that this game can be remodeled over time and become a fun catch when your baby gets older.
From 7 to 9 months
Discovering the light: At this age, they learn that they can control some actions with their little hands like turning the light on and off. It’s the time when they insist on going on their lap a thousand times a day just to flick the switch. To avoid this carry-and-go, offer a toy phone. The accessory may satisfy his desire to control things.
Ball: every baby is enchanted by a ball and the way it moves. Try throwing the ball up and you’ll see how much fun it has. Throwing the toy in his direction will also encourage him to throw the ball back or run after it around the house.
From 10 months to 1 year
Imitation: Make sounds, moves and faces for your baby and see if he will try to imitate you. He may or may not make his own funny sound. Then it’s your turn to imitate him or create something different again. This kind of joke usually gets good laughs!
Bathing: sitting in the bathtub for bathing will be a challenge at this age. So that you don’t go crazy at this time, invest in lots of toys to distract your child in the water. And it can be simple stuff, okay? Kitchen pots and plastic packaging are usually great playmates at bath time.
Fun is what matters!
Baby activities will help your baby develop better, but they will also become one of the most fun times of your day with him. So always take the time to devote to this play and allow yourself to have fun!
